Local Activities

General meetings are held monthly September through May on the third Saturday of the month. Various speakers and programs highlight these meetings.

Monthly newsletters provide our members with information about branch activities and information on AAUW at all levels.

Activities include Public Policy, Great Decisions, Educational Foundation, Tech Trek, Local Scholarship, Legal Advocacy, community support and other related activities.

For fun, some of our members play bridge, go out to lunch, share ideas from a good book, or join the "Go Arts" group with outings to museums, concerts and theaters. We are always on the lookout for another fun interest group to start.

Services Offered

For over 128 years, the American Association of University Women has led the nation in advocacy, action, research and lifelong learning for women and girls.  AAUW has worked for the advancement of women, their recognition as first class citizens, equal opportunity and the right to choose from many alternative lifestyles and careers.

AAUW’s Leadership has pushed the issue of gender equity in the classroom to the forefront of the educational debate.  We have led coalition lobbying efforts on issues such as civil rights, welfare reform, reproductive health care, pay equity, family and medical leave and dependent care.

AAUW’s Educational Foundation is the oldest and largest single source of fellowships for women in higher education.

AAUW’s Legal Advocacy Fund supports women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination in higher education.
